The G4 Titanium screen hinge assembly attaches to this mount, which in turn attaches to the palmrest or lower case assembly. This mount rarely fails by itself but often will bend slightly when a screen hinge fails. The bend cannot be straightened as the mount will break; if bent, the mount must be replaced.

A new hinge attached to a bent mount is prone to failure. PowerBook Guy advises checking the mount carefully for trueness when replacing a failed hinge.

This mount is for the left side of the PowerBook as you are facing the LCD.
